What is the difference between FR, FRLS and LSZH cable?

FR resists spreading flame. FRLS adds reduced smoke and lower acid gas. LSZH, also written LS0H or HFFR and covered by IS 17048, contains no halogens at all, so it produces very little smoke and no corrosive gas. Specify LSZH where people must evacuate through the smoke: hospitals, malls, metros, data centres.

What does electron-beam cross-linked mean?

The insulation is passed through an electron beam, which links the polymer chains together. The result withstands higher temperatures - typically 105°C against 70°C for standard PVC - resists melting under short circuit, and lasts longer. Both APAR Anushakti and RR Firex use it.

How do I choose the right cable size?

Start from the design current, then apply derating for ambient temperature, grouping and installation method, and check the voltage drop over the cable run stays within limits. Send us the load and the run length and we will size it for you.
