Hotels & hospitality

A hotel room has an electrical specification unlike any other interior. It needs a keycard switch that isolates the room when the guest leaves, do-not-disturb and make-up-room indication that works from both sides of the door, a foot lamp for night navigation, a shaver socket at two voltages, and a switch plate that looks like it belongs in a room charging what the room charges.

It also needs all of that in one visual family, because a guest sees every plate in the room at once and mismatched finishes read as cheapness more loudly than almost anything else in the fit-out.

Two of our ranges carry a complete hospitality set. That matters for refurbishment as much as new build: a hotel replacing plates across ninety rooms needs a range that will still exist in three years.

Why hospitality gets assembled from mismatched parts

Most wiring device ranges sold in India have no hospitality modules at all, so a specifier picks a switch range they like and then sources the keycard unit, the DND indicator and the foot lamp from three other manufacturers. The result is four different plate profiles and four whites in a room where the guest sees them side by side.

What we supply for this

Siemens SINOVA Opulenz hospitality range

Electronic keycard unit, do-not-disturb and make-up-room internal and external indicators, electro-mechanical buzzer, call bell indicator, LED foot lamp and a 115/240 V shaver socket - all in the same plate family as the room's switches and sockets, across nine finishes including two natural wood textures. Antibacterial switch surfaces, which is a genuine argument in guest rooms.

Norisys TG9 for premium properties

Solid metal toggle levers on glass or machined aluminium plates, with a matching hospitality set including a 25 A smart-card operated switch with exit time delay, curtain control, and start-stop push stations. For properties where the switch plate is part of the design language rather than a fitting.

Guest-room protection

Compact distribution boards, RCBOs at 30 mA for bathroom and socket circuits, and - for properties taking fire safety seriously - arc fault detection on guest-room circuits, where a fault behind a headboard is otherwise undetectable until it is a fire.

Send us the drawing or the schedule and we will specify it.

We will tell you what the specification needs, where it can safely be value-engineered, and where it should not be.
